Minimalistic

One of the skills I have struggled with (and every photographer does) since I first picked up a camera is telling a story.  When I started playing around more with minimalistic photography it clicked; I am not taking pictures of things, I am taking photographs about moments. I am capturing the exact moment in time that you will never experience again. The lonely tree may have been sitting on that hill for 50 years, but the conditions will never be like this again. The Rockland Breakwater has endured for over 120 years but that foggy morning where the conditions were just right… There are many moments like it, but they will never be exactly the same as when I captured it on that moment. This is the story I aim to tell with my photography. That perfect moment of quiet clarity. With taking photos about things instead of “of things or subjects” there are questions and gaps the the viewer has to fill using their own imagination
